Roomies is a roommate finding platform that helps people rent out spare rooms and find compatible roommates in Singapore and 7 other countries.

Our mission is to make finding room rentals easy, affordable & safe. We believe in building great technology that makes it simpler to find great people and create fantastic shared homes.

What Roomies does

Room listings

Anyone with a spare room can list it on Roomies for free. Listings show the rent, the room, the property and the people already living there so the right roommates can find it.

Room wanted profiles

People looking for a room create a free room wanted profile describing their budget, preferred locations and lifestyle. Owners of rooms can browse profiles and reach out to people who suit their home.

Team ups

People who would rather find a place together can team up with other roommates and search for a whole property as a group.

Messaging

Members talk through the free Roomies messaging system, so nobody needs to share personal contact details until they are comfortable.

Verifications

Members can prove who they are with an ID check powered by Stripe. Verified members get a badge on their listing and profile, which gives others more confidence.

Promoted listings

Promoting a listing places it at the top of search results and highlights it. On average, promoted listings receive 3.4 times more inquiries.

Roommate agreements and inspections

We provide free roommate agreements, and our sister company myInspections is a free app for creating property inspection reports.

Free to list, search and message

Creating a listing or profile, searching and messaging are all free. Promoted listings are optional, one-off payments that never auto-renew.

No advertising and no data sharing

There is no advertising on Roomies and we do not sell or share your data with third parties. We will only contact you for the reason you joined the site - renting rooms.

Every member verifies their phone number

Every member must verify their phone number before they can use their account, and every listing passes through our security checks.

Independent and privately owned

Roomies is a small privately owned business with no pressure from external investors, share markets or corporate owners to distract from our values or mission.

Roomies is built by a small team that specializes in building web platforms for room rentals. We previously owned Flatmates.com.au and today run Roomies in 8 countries.
