About the room
Hi everyone! We are on the lookout for someone to share our incredible shared in home in the Jalan Besar area from June 2026 onwards! It’s been home to some amazing people and we’re hoping one of you can become a part of the wonderful little family!
The House For those who enjoy neutrals and wood tones, the House is an absolute delight. Dating back to around the 1950s, this Modern Shophouse Style features concrete with no decorative tiles, presenting a minimalist facade. Inside, greys, browns, and black are chosen for the white brick, accented with cozy rugs, throws, and various wooden furnishings. The common area is a spacious 1,000sqft open space, with a living room and kitchen space, connected by an alfresco dining area. We’ve held some amazing parties (more to come later!) here, and the neighbors have never complained.
The Location The Jalan Besar area used to be quite dull, but over the past 5 years, there has been a surge of trendy cafes and restaurants opening up around the area. The house is conveniently located midway between the purple (Farrer Park station, 8-minute walk), green (Lavender station, 10-minute walk), and blue (Bendemeer station, 12-minute walk) MRT lines. City Square Mall is just 5 minutes away and has a newly renovated NTUC Fairprice supermarket, a GV Cinema, and plenty of delicious food options (including lots for vegetarians!). There are also 2 Anytime Fitness gyms and an Active SG gym ($3 per entry) within 500m, along with numerous other sports facilities.
The Room The room boasts excellent storage, has a high ceiling and abundant natural light throughout the day, making it feel airy and inviting. The bathroom is shared between three people and is only two steps from the room!
About the roomies
The Housemates There are 4 (out of 5 rooms) other housemates, from Germany, USA, Indonesia and Netherlands. While it might sound like a lot, the house is really big enough for everyone. We’ve often gone on exciting trips together and spend time chatting whenever we can. To prevent any major disagreements, we created a “housemate agreement,” and it’s worked wonders.
