FINE PRINT:

I’ve had negative experience so I’ll need to list my preference out.

Must:-

  • have no superstition against Wi-Fi, 5G, phone charging at night
  • be considerate when (a) roommate(s) is/are rushing to sleep to wake up early next day
  • minimize inconvenience, disruption or disturbance to one another as much as possible, e.g. not strictly can’t cook, but if you do, please make sure the place isn’t dirty and it’s halal because there is Malay roommate
  • don’t touch other person’s thing without permission (even as simple as an normal-looking paper bag may contain a fragile item packaged to be carefully carried in a particular manner, not knowing it would likely result in unintentional damage). In cases of extraordinary, notify the owner of the item that it was touched.

LOCATION

It’s located at Clarke Quay area.

About the roomies

I’m a 20 years old male Vietnamese student and my roommate is a 30-40s male Malaysian-Malay Muslim working individual (night shift). We’re very respectful, tolerant and open-minded individuals to co-exist in a room despite our difference in race, language, religion and even sleeping hours.

Ideally, I sleep at 8.30-9pm and wake up at 5-6AM and to exit the room by 7.30am. My roommate would come back at around 9.30am. He will sleep during the day and leave at 7pm for work and I come back at 6-7pm.

We find strength in our differences. For example, we see the shift difference as a natural advantage to minimize friction in exchange for being considerate with the lightning/sound if one of us is awake in the room during another one’s sleeping hours.

A little bit about us: My field of expertise is software engineering and my interest is international politics & economics. My roommate is 30-40 years old who works as a security guard in Singapore for close to a decade. He has a family in Malaysia. Both of us can communicate in English language.

We’re introverted and very reticent about our personal affairs.
